DEMETRIUS KEEP GOING

Combining influences from house, synth-pop and progressive techno results in ‘Keep Going’, the latest release from Berlin-based Demetrius. Sitting on top of a bed of chunky synth sounds and dramatic tension is a story of the highs and lows of Demetrius’ own journey. Speaking of the inspiration for the track, he says “Moving to Berlin from New York was a life-changing experience -- and one of the pivotal moments was this breakup. I hope this song can help people understand that I've got to keep going. After the breakup, after everything doesn’t work, after it all, keep going.” From a production standpoint, one of the tracks highlights is a wobbling, heavily filtered two-note synth motif that returns in almost every bar of the piece. Having worked with the likes of Elton John and Alicia Keys, it’s no surprise that Demetrius' solo work has this much talent behind it. - Dan Peeke
