A folky mix of minimalism and Bon Iver, the first single from David Allred at his new home, Erased Tapes, has already begun to turn heads. With not an instrument in sight, the layered vocals and at times intense production make you forget instruments were ever needed in the first place. According to Allred, ‘The Garden’ represents his “metal health as [he] strives to develop a better relationship with the way we live, learn and communicate through the internet”. The ethereal track is taken from the upcoming album The Transition and follows on from successful past releases such as ‘Ahoy’, his contribution to the Erased Tapes 10^th anniversary box set, and a recent performance at The Royal Festival Hall. -Dan Peeke
