Luke Hester and Lucy Hill first made themselves known with a simple, stunning electronic track last month called 'Breathe'. The duo quickly changed their name from just Dahlia to Dahlia Sleeps, presumably because it was a nightmare to Google, and yesterday, they capped a very busy couple of weeks with a second exquisite release, 'Hessian'. Known for his navel-gazing production work under the LuQus moniker, Luke applies similar hazy techniques and naturally layered instrumentation to 'Hessian', his warming synths finding a perfect match in Lucy's cut-glass tones. Doubtless this isn't as immediately enamouring as 'Breathe', but given time 'Hessian' will win you over with its deep, thoughtful charms. - DC
