DADY FAILING

If you’ve ever made re-connected with that person from high school that you didn’t really like or simply didn’t move in the same circles as you, but later became the best of friends - then you’ll relate to the origin story of pop outfit Dady. Composed of former frenemies, singer-songwriter Rachel Dady and songwriter-producer Jesse O’Connor, this new project celebrates epic pop melodies and glossy production to reveal those vulnerable thoughts and emotions often hidden away for fear of admitting failure. In their newest release 'Failing', vocalist Rachel sings, “I tried / But you’re failing,” in a test of trust and love. Dady’s honesty is upheld by Jesse’s compelling production, which is a silky tapestry of a sparkling synths and danceable beats. Speaking more about their collaboration, Rachel says: “Jesse sent this beat when I was visiting family in Minnesota and I remember writing the melody on the dock of our lake house. The production lends itself to these tender, almost guarded verses, but the hook is big and anthemic. “Failing” is about a relationship where I never felt comfortable saying how I felt, and this song is me finally doing that.” - Hannah Thacker
