CRYWOLF ADAH [FAWN]

Crywolf’s journey into the psyche continues with ‘Adah [FAWN]’. It’s part song, part poem, and part sonic theatre that unveils a deep and complex story. The accompanying visuals transport the watcher to a world of dark magic that is in fact Part I of the forthcoming WIDOW short film. Directed and edited by both Crywolf and Foniit, the six-minute watch is drenched in hues of midnight blue and obsidian black with the infrequent warmth of woody browns to break up this abyssal pallette. The imagery is full of vague-yet-powerful symbolism, with many interpretations available to the voyeur. Opening with a spoken-word performance from Crywolf, we’re led down the path of dreams and nightmares which fades out into ticking clocks; a stark reminder of the mortal terror of our own impermanence. The song portion of ‘Adah [FAWN]’ comes through in raw acoustic strings and Crywolf’s portrayal as hopeless lover as heard in his emotive vocals. Throughout both the video and song, we glimpse at a fraught mental state, one that’s plagued by fear unfulfilled potential, broken love, death and self-destruction. The visuals close out with the sound of a speeding vehicle and blood-soaked Crywolf - a teaser of what’s to come in Part II. Watch this space, athough you don’t need us to tell you that. - Hannah Thacker
