CHERRY GLAZERR DADDI

After a painful period of silence, L.A.s Cherry Glazerr have returned; announcing their new album Stuffed & Ready, which will arrive on the 1st of February. Graduating from the gnarly tongue-in-cheek DIY-punk of their earlier works, Cherry Glazerr’s new single ‘Daddi’ has a serious point to make. Tackling self-doubt and family taboos head on, front woman Clem Creevy’s provocative lyrics repeatedly seek male approval in a surreal retelling of the female experience in an oppressive patriarchal society. Pushing it a little further Creevy even coos 'Who should I f*** Daddi?' before rejecting it all with a blisteringly defiant chorus. Upping the production with the help of John Vanderslice, ‘Daddi’ veers between its mammoth choruses and intimate verses as warm vibratos ring out on top of a ticking drum machine and warm synth fillers.
