LIST PICK

CHARTREUSE WOMAN, I’M CRAZY

The third single from Chartreuse’s debut EP (due for a November 1st release) sees band pianist Harriet Wilson take over lead vocal duties. ‘Woman, I’m Crazy’ has a lamenting sound which combines delicate jazz guitar fills with gentle piano chords and subtle drum kit, but by the time the track concludes, the band have all jumped in to provide some noisy, full on rock sounds. On the track, Wilson explains “I wrote 'Woman, I'm Crazy' a few years ago when I was thinking negatively about myself. It changes from 'you' to 'I' throughout the track as I'm speaking to myself as though I was someone else and reassuring my other self that everything will be fine”. Be on the lookout for upcoming (free!) UK tour dates this November. - Dan Peeke
