With only their second ever outing Caro are making a mark. A lazy, slacker, Mac DeMarco-esque six-string opening gives way to punchy power chord work in 'Cold Comfort', as the Leeds newcomers blend alt-pop with psych and intelligent word-play to create a gently mind-bending cut. It's a wonderfully assured and impressive early single that shows off the breadth of talent at play and is sure to translate magically to the live arena, as the trio play early live shows at the start of July. -G.O'B
