Glaswegian producer C Duncan has just announced the follow up to his Mercury-nominated debut Architect. New album The Midnight Sun will see a release via venerable Brighton-based label FatCat on October 7th later this year, with expansive new cut ‘Wanted To Want It Too’ preceding that, today. A slightly more experimental approach to songwriting and arrangement, when placed aside the material on his debut full-length, ‘Wanted To Want It Too’ sounds completely other-worldly. Recorded and produced entirely on his own in his Glasgow flat - using his bedroom studio set-up, Duncan gradually adds layers upon layers of spectral electronics, intricately assembling a complex, yet subtle backdrop for his warped vocal harmonies. He really is in a league of his own when it comes to grandiose electronic music, and on the evidence of this latest cut, the trend looks set to continue.
