With Chicago's next wave duo Burns Twins taking the instrumental reigns, ‘Day By Day’ is all graceful keys, shuffling percussion, Africana beats, and lofi guitar riffs. Over the textural loveliness is Indiana artist Omar Apollo’s soothing vocals, switching between English and Spanish lyrics, but never, ever losing pace with BT’s musicianship. To top off this dynamic collaboration, we have production from Illinois’ Sam Hudgens, who working alongside the production notes of the brothers, melds everything together in subtle relaxation. Although there’s a high chance that ‘Day By Day’ is a one off, we’re still hoping for more collaborations from this bunch. - HT
