BRUNO MAJOR COLD BLOOD

In August 2016, Bruno Major set himself to monumental task of writing, recording and releasing one song every month for a year. Along the way, we’ve found a few favourites like ‘The First Thing You See’, ‘Easily’, ‘Just The Same’, ‘Fair-Weather Friend’ and ‘Places We Won’t Walk’. A little later than his timely new moon fashion, due to losing his voice, Major has revealed the penultimate song in his year-long project, ‘Cold Blood’, an upbeat incarnation of his smooth, sensitive and soulful acoustic R&B. As with many of his songs, Major’s writing process is a cathartic one through which we’ve heard heartbreak, hope and love - with ‘Cold Blood’ there’s a taste of betrayal, which may surprise some due to the bouncy, pop-tinged nature of the track. Speaking about this uptempo single, the North London musician says, “I wrote 'Cold Blood' after having been unceremoniously dropped by my record label a while ago. It was recorded last month as with nearly all of this project in a garden shed in London with my genius friend Phairo ... I think he has excelled himself on this one.” Now on the last leg, Bruno Major will be completing his twelve-track collection, suitably titled A Song For Every Moon, for release August 25th. - HT
