BOY AZOOGA JERRY

After bursting through with their zany debut ‘Face Behind Her Cigarette’ and garage rock-inspired follow up 'Loner Boogie', Welsh indie-poppers Boy Azooga have just shared their gloriously heartwarming new single. ‘Jerry’ combines gently strummed major chords with sprightly synthesizers and perfectly placed drum parts. Wholesome lyrics like, “Walking down in Thompson’s park and you ran so far I couldn’t hear you bark...” are delivered in a laid-back Mac Demarco-esque swoon, before breaking into a genuinely uplifting chorus as front man Davey Newington asks “Where did you go to get that smile?” The equally comforting video was filmed at Cardiff Dogs Home featuring plenty of cute doggy action from the since adopted Bander and Winston. Boy Azooga’s debut album 1, 2, Kung Fu! will arrive via Heavenly Recordings on the 8th of June. -Holly Mullineaux
