The world of Speedy Wunderground continues to amaze. This latest release from the brainchild label of producer Dan Carey (Franz Ferdinand, Bat For Lashes, and TOY to name a few) was written in twenty minutes and, as with all Speedy works, recorded in a matter of hours. Long-time Carey collaborator Boxed In - aka Oli Bayston - takes the lead, providing the restless, arcade game production for fellow-South Londoners Formation (who were given half an hour's notice) to bring their energetic and increasingly spirited vocal work to the fray. The "Running out, running out of time" refrain is married perfectly with the twitching atmosphere, simultaneously and subtly nodding to the production criteria of the track. Due for release on limited edition 7" vinyl on 22 April ahead of the label's second compilation record in June, 'Running Out' is a brilliantly hypnotic look into the wonderful world of Speedy Wunderground. -G.O'B.
