BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD CONCORDE

Edging closer to the release of their impending second album Ants From Up There, 'Concorde' is the LP's uplifting third single and is perhaps Black Country, New Road's most considered cut to date. Noticeably more tender in it's approach to some of the band's early works, there are poppier melodies at play on 'Concorde'. Building exponentially from it's bare beginnings, of sparse drums, a sliding guitar line and Isaac Wood's restrained vocals, layers of of intricate instrumentation gradually enter the composition, courtesy of the other 6 members of the band. Recounting the spine-tingling nostalgia of Funeral-era Arcade Fire, the 6 minute piece ascends, almost overwhelmingly, crescendoing around the 5 minute mark. Lose yourself in the dark beauty of 'Concorde' here now. -Holly Mullineaux
