It's so so rare for a new artist to break out through a TV commercial, and there's always a question mark over those that do make the final cut - do they have a monster publishing deal already? Do they have an "in" with the agency or the brand? Are they the next hyper-manufactured major label signing? What's great about Los Angeles singer BISHOP is that despite landing a big sync on the latest Acura ad in the states, she seems totally and utterly real. It also helps that 'Wild Horses' is one of the sickest debut songs we've heard this year. Blending airily picked acoustic guitars with a pulsing electronic backing track, BISHOP comes into her own over the stomping chorus where wobbly bass vibrates alongside persistent trap-drums. Honestly, the drops in this track are so perfectly executed - even the acoustic parts are super-tight - it doesn't matter where she came from or how, we're just insanely hyped to have her here. - DC
