BIRTHDAY GIRL I CAME HERE TO EAT

In the midst of a string of European dates supporting some brilliantly-named acts including Cocaine Piss and Frankie and The Witch Fingers, Sweden's Birthday Girl have unleashed a noise-infused shoegaze cut with an equally intriguing title. Having already picked up praise from Iggy Pop himself as well an enviable spin on super-cool Seattle-based radio station KEXP 'I Came Here to Eat', conjures imagery of My Bloody Valentine meets Ulrika Spacek on a comedown. Discussing the track vocalist/guitarist Fran Baxter explained, "The lyrics came fast because I was trying to sum up an impulsive, immediate, lustful feeling...The song stays the same, with a driving beat and chords consistent with the emotion. Although it’s aggressive, the overall feeling is positive because I want the song to groove so people can move to it." -Holly Mullineaux
