Another tune taken from Stamp The Wax’s 2018 Advent Calendar in aid of Julie’s Bicycle (a non-profit that supports the creative industry to take action on climate change), ‘Funky Silver Hot Pants’ is an "homage to 80s electronica from Bell Towers, like the love-child of Kraftwerk and Alexander Robotnik-esque Italo-house". You can virtually hear every track from Kraftwerk’s Man Machine album referenced at one point or another, from the squelchy rhythmic accompaniment to the fuzzy lead line and robot-like vocoded lead vocal. Bell Towers have pulled off something impressive here, paying tribute to their heroes while maintaining creativity and excitement throughout. -Dan Peeke
