BEACHES VOID

It's been 4 years since Australian experimental psych quintet Beaches released their sophomore album She Beats, which was shortlisted for the prestigious Australian Music Prize. The band's new single 'Void' marks their storming return alongside news of a new album Second of Spring, due out on Chapter Music September 8th. Centred around a face-melting guitar riff, 'Void' sees Beaches doing what they do best by creating hypnotic jams with pumping motorik beats. Guitarist Ali McCann explains, "Void is a conversation between two people, who discuss a prolonged absence, a temporary disappearance into a space of emptiness. We wrote "Void" in our rehearsal space in Reservoir (Melbourne) during a prolific period of songwriting. It was produced by John Lee (Phaedra Studios), who also plays synthesiser on this track. Karla and I are on vocals. There is a restrained interaction between them, tempered by the motorik drive of the instrumentation." - HLMX
