As we approach the end of the year, exciting new releases are hard to come by. Motek Music are maintaining a solid output, and this tune from Barbuto & Made In Paris is no exception. The American and Australian producers have combined their techy house talents to create ‘Captive’, a slow builder full of minimalist influence, combined with syncopated percussive lines and almost proggy flute melodies. As the piece reaches its climax, the slowly morphing sound of the jagged synth reaches its edgy finality, and fades into nothing. -Dan Peeke
