ASIA B FATAL ATTRACTION

Londoner Asia B's ambient soul music is scattered across the internet, with only one tune on YouTube - 'Paper Skin', which comes with stunning visuals, and easily an album's worth of songs on Soundcloud, featuring various producers, as well as handful of songs on Spotify. Her freshest tune is 'Fatal Attraction', produced by Danny Trash - who released his own EP DANIELSTONEROCKS in August. His production on 'Fatal Attraction' is lo-fi with drum beats that clip distortedly and tonnes of reverb, adding an eerie tone. There's an ominous synth bass drone that rumbles. Asia B's vocals are so softly whispered into the mic, especially on the line "we'd rather be somewhere warm, than in this crowd" - which is gracefully harmonised, juxtaposing with the heavier elements in the song. Electric jazz guitar adds a sugared glaze to the end of the track, which sits alongside Asia B's vocals, spoken with a sleepily seductive tone: "I let your body come closer, I let my body take hold, the taste is enough". 'Fatal Attraction' is an experimental piece of music about seduction and lust which sees the best of two individual's musical talents combine. -Ellie Rose-Davies
