This little-known three-piece are shrouded in the kind of mystery from which emotionally-charged PR&B nocturnes like this one thrive. Synthetic, yet bursting with a palpable sense of feeling, vocalist Andrea (we'll have to take the mononym for now) twists her rasping, soft-focus vocal around a backdrop of gauzy electronica, while gently plodding bass waxes and wanes to repetitious effect, providing a strong backbone but one which is never intrusive to the song’s carefully curated elements. This is a band to file alongside moody misanthropes like The Weeknd and the XX. -AW
