Making quite the stir with their debut EP Swimmer last year, Australian trio Arbes return this week with another lavish slice of psych-tinged indie rock. The first cut to be lifted from the Melbourne-based outfit's forthcoming Psalms EP, new track ‘Sun On My Back’ is an aptly titled number, given it’s balmy, relaxing nature. Written “partly about trying to accept something ending and wanting to grow from that” according to the threesome, ‘Sun On My Back’ was the last track to be written on the new EP, and if the rest of it is anything like this superb little nugget of soft-pysch, then we’re all in for a treat. Psalms is set for a 7th October release via Sports Day Records. -JC
