Written almost exactly a year ago during a trip to the French Alps, 'Alpine Town' is yet another hazy morsel of melancholy dream pop from Amsterdam's Amber Arcades. Mirroring the eeriness of visiting the mountains out of season, a sense of sadness that echoes through the track, cutting through the breezy guitar strums, upbeat drum work and groove-driven bass line. De Graaf explains: "I was kind of in a sad place and my boyfriend had dragged me along to get away from all that, but I guess it doesn’t really work like that, ha. It just made me reflect on the sad part of the tourist condition as a metaphor for life, man."
