All about slipping into a deep social disconnection from old friends, 'Lose My Place' is the grungy second single from LA based Alyseka. It is entirely conceivable that the angst and nonchalance of the track is entirely autobiographic as lead singer Alaska Reid upped from northern state Montana at the age of just 19 years old and headed south to Los Angeles in search of music and new adventures. Getting out of the comfort zone has clearly done her well as the band embody the laid back sounds of the West Coast with their moody guitars and intense attitude. With an album being helped along by the producer behind Sonic Youth, we can't see this one not catching on. - SJ
