We've been patiently waiting for music from Alpha Maid since they blew us away supporting Good Sad Happy Bad at The Windmill back in February. Arriving alongside news of Alpha Maid's forthcoming EP, lead track 'As You' is a deeply affecting cut that combines glitchy, trip-hop elements with oddly-pitched guitars and band leader Leisha Thomas' expressive vocals, which veer from cooly delivered spoken word, to eerie and ethereal before letting loose with a frenzied growl in the chorus. Having also played alongside esteemed experimentalists Housewives recently, the London-based project lead by are finding a unique and exciting niche in the capital's underground scene and we can't wait to hear more. -Holly Mullineaux
