This may be his debut album, but Alex Izenberg is a man of many monikers and talents. Having peddled himself around the LA scene for a while on guitar, vocals and piano, he is now sharing music under his own name ahead of his Harlequin album landing on 18 November via Domino. A reclusive man by all accounts, his music has the kind of innate groovy genius akin to that of Connan Mockasin, although a lot more soulful. The quirks are there though, with strange little couplets and dreamlike cosmic interjections. His latest 'Hot Is The Fire' is the latest in a sleuth of new material and with it's psychedelic cosiness, we're warmed for the album. - SJ
