As long-term fans of alt-pop-jazzers ALASKALASKA here at TMR, we were delighted to discover the London-based quintet's debut album The Dots will arrive on the 3rd of May. Lead track 'Moon' acknowledges the largely-ignored subject of monthly hormone cycles and their unfortunately unavoidable effects on every day life. Mentioning everything from tummy aches to bad dreams vocalist Lucinda explains, "It is an insight into my neurosis. ‘Moon’ is about PMS.” Soundtracked by a rich backdrop of buoyant synth-bass and scratchy percussion, 'Moon''s painfully relatable lyrics glide confidently at the forefront of the mix before veering off into an addictive synth/sax jam that'll keep you coming back for more. -Holly Mullineaux
