There’s something endlessly compelling about singer-songwriters, even more so when they’re as genuine as Ailbhe Reddy. It was only three months ago that the Dublin musician released her debut EP, Hollowed Out Sea, a title which doubles up as the symbolic image that you’ll hear throughout chilling stand-out song ‘Keepsake’. The track’s new video was jointly directed by Reddy and filmmaker Nick Murphy in a washed-out filter that reveals a narrative of fading love. It’s extremely easy to be carried away by the elegant images, tidal instrumentation, soft production and Reddy’s subtly-accented voice that flies through the sparse, elemental notes. If you do find yourself spellbound, then the crashing percussive breakdown and Reddy’s desperately repeated refrain nearing the end of the track will help you find release and leave a lasting hairs-standing-on-end impression. - HT
