ABATTOIR BLUES SENSE

Having already made their mark as one of the most excitingly ferocious new bands on the UK live circuit, Abattoir Blues have revealed 'Sense'. The first half of their debut double a-side single, out 4 November via the increasingly exciting Cannibal Hymns label (Dream Wife, Our Girl), it's a dark and intoxicating example of the Brighton quintet's dark post-punk and post-hardcore work. With a vocal that harks back to the elusive brilliance of Wu Lyf, the track grapples with themes of depression while holding attention in a twisted, vice-like grip. Of the track Harry says: “A fundamental theme of the song is desperately trying to find clarity or rationality and both of those things feeling completely alien”. Catch the aforementioned explosive live set as the band play a handful of shows over the coming months, if you have any 'Sense'. -G.O'B
