Rather than approaching pop in a gloomy, repetitive way, Aaron Childs has taken his horn section and soulful, jazz-influenced band to create the bouncy, upbeat ‘Easy’ full of catchy hooks and singalong melodies. As his label GODMODE Music suggest, Childs’ voice is full of both “disarming falsetto and commanding shout-sing", indeed "he’s not afraid to make you happy, not afraid to let you know he’s working hard for you”. Within his band, Brian Robert Jones (who also plays with Vampire Weekend) provides a West Coast rap style bassline, with Childs’ Grammy Award-winning father Billy playing a bouncy electric piano part.
