Often, an artist will appear to be doing all they can to stay out of the limelight, when really, it's just a cunning marketing ploy to build up hype. On rare occasions, we do encounter someone who just really wants to get on with it, and let their music speak for itself; enter enigmatic Australian act AAA+, who don't have Facebook, Twitter, or even an email account. You name the social networking platform, they haven't heard of it. A handful of demos have appeared on their SoundCloud page these past two years, but our attention hadn't been fully piqued until they uploaded 'Soma Days' last week. Without overstating it, this new track is cut from the same cloth as everyone's favourite song about aviation legend, Chesley Sullenberger - Electric Youth's Drive-featuring sad-banger, 'Real Hero'. A tender, electronic embrace, it pulses with downtempo beats, gentle, oscillating bass and warming vocals; a triumph in cinematic synthpop. - DC
