KORDZ ACCEPT & CONNECT (FEAT. LONTALIUS)

For all the criticism that the Internet receives, with all its temptations and dark pools, it’s still amazing how this single invention has made our small world even more so and connected people who may never have crossed paths. Two such figures are kordz, aka Alexandre Kordzaia who is an electronic music producer, performer and composer hailing from Georgia’s capital city Tbilisi, and Lontalius a singer, songwriter and musician hailing from New Zealand. The results of their meeting speak for themselves really. Just click play and you’re dropped into a serene soundscape and dynamic electronics, lofi textures and Lontalius’ pop vocals with raspy edges. Titled ‘Accept & Connect’, the song taps into the timeless tale of love, of crashing hard, of unreturned emotions, and all that sat against kordz’s perfectly suited production. Speaking from a technical perspective, the Georgian multi-talent tells us that: “This track started out as a simple melody that I discovered during improvising on the piano. I found it fascinating because the harmony seemed to come directly out of the melody; they weren’t two separate things. The sounds of breaking tree branches and crackling leaves are ripping through a chorale that’s echoing from a church, far away. The chorale sounds like its coming from far away, while the sounds of the nature seem to happen almost inside of your ears. It created a very strange atmosphere.” Looking to the emotive elements of ‘Accept & Connect’, Lontalius says that “People tell me they hear longing in my music. i’d agree with that. I had a new framework to explore, i couldn’t be more thankful for that. I’ve been trying to challenge myself to be more vulnerable, but to also find a confidence that i didn’t have before. all in the name of making something that connects.” - Hannah Thacker
