KID WAVE TWENTY FOUR

Kid Wave’s new cut, ‘Twenty Four’, is all about that stomach-wrenching feeling that you’re too old to be making the same mistakes, but too naive to know how to make your lessons of past, your instincts of your future. The Swedish singer-songwriter, real name Lea Emmery, has been based in LA working on the follow up to her Wonderlust album, released year before last. ‘Twenty Four’ came out of a writing session with producer Lewis Pesacov, and asks pensively: ‘Why is it hard to be so young, to walk these streets like they're my own/Got no excuse but twenty-four to hit my head against the wall’. Apparently the song came to Emmery when she was living in temporary accommodation in Chinatown, flat broke and desperately trying to save enough to travel back to the UK. Here’s hoping the success of ‘Twenty Four’ are enough to keep her in the studio for the next few months! -HM
