‘Jimmy’ by the highly mysterious artist Jimmy is an out-of-body psychotic break that explores disconnection, multiple personalities, substance abuse, and love despite it all. With a jaunty piano, tambourine tap and cymbal flourishes, it wouldn’t seem likely that this song would portray the most desperate of situations, but as the smooth indie shuffle unfurls, it so seems that the layers to Jimmy’s life are as much a lost cause as the last. Through it all, the song comes back to a similar theme of how others have ceased to take action, 'we don’t really blame him', 'we never really question him' - and so, the self-destructive cycle continues. The cool vocals of the artist Jimmy sway from a matter-of-fact tone to a falsetto exhaustion, portraying the continued back and forth of such an existence through timeless songwriting of this first single. It’s unlike anything we’ve heard for a long while and truly worth your attention. -HT
