In support of International Women’s Day, the Swedish ladies have excelled themselves in the shape of a fantastic remix to Janice’s ‘Queen’. ‘Medsyster’ translates directly as ‘sisters’: the campaign is sponsored and initiated by the Swedish Red Cross in order to raise funds for women in warzones around the world. The track features a few additional Swedish Queens: Sabina Ddumba, AMWIN and LASH and comes with a bombastic video which was entirely shot, produced and directed by women. It’s utterly inspiring, featuring a particularly powerful moment when Janice sings live and pitch perfect ‘we are the Queens, Queens of everything, we deserve everything’.
