GEOWULF SUNDAY
‘Great big blue oh what a shade, painting my face’ is the ethereal opening to Geowulf’s new single ‘Sunday’. The track is taken from the band’s debut LP Great Big Blue, which is out in just under a month’s time via tastemaker label 37 Adventures. "Sunday is a favourite of ours in the album – its a little cruiser of a song meant to make you feel all the good things" - the band say of the track. Despite this, however, the track’s lyrics take inspiration from the loneliness that Sundays can bring – perhaps inspired by the fact that the band’s two members, Star Kendrick (vocals) and Toma Banjanin (guitar/vocals) often find themselves in different countries. The album, therefore, took place in various long weekends spent together in the studio, and if ‘Sunday’ is anything to go by – it’s going to be quite the debut. With layers of sparkling guitar lines, breezy vocals and 60s-inspired drums, ‘Sunday’ is the perfect set-up single – we can’t wait to hear the rest on 16th February. If you’re digging it as much as we are, grab a ticket to Geowulf’s upcoming show at The Lexington in Kings Cross on 28th February. –HM
