GEMS FORGIVE ME

‘Forgive Me’ is the latest chapter in GEMSEvery Full Moon track series, which chronicles Lindsay Pitts and Clifford John Usher’s break-up as romantic partners, but it also explores their continued, evolving creative collaboration. Their sixth installment is another dreamy reflection on events past. The simple combination of finger snaps, airy, despondent vocals and a piano arrangement worthy of a romantic drama movie. At points, the song becomes slightly bolder with flushes of nostalgic, melodious synths. According to Pitts, this song in particular seemed to mystically apparate before the Los Angeles duo, “as if written by something that was neither me nor Clifford.” Continuing with this sense of pure amazement, Pitts says that “Music blows my fucking mind because it has the power to transcend the most trying circumstances. Sometimes the two of us have a hard time being in the same room together, but out of that tension something incredibly beautiful can emerge. Music can make you forget whatever you were so angry about and get lost in a dream.” - HT
