‘Daylight Dreaming’ marks the fourth release from East London collective Equals, who have recently spent time adding a stream of new players to their ever-expanding line-up. Fresh off the back of six months in the studio, ‘Daylight Dreaming’ features bass from Submotion Orchestra’s Chris Hargreaves and some stunning vocals from frontman Ade Omotayo, who has also been poached by the Gorillaz to feature in live performances of Humanz. 'Daylight Dreaming' is drenched in Equals’ signature electronic soul sound, and balances a thundering chorus with Disclosure-esque beats. Speaking about the track, Equals member James tells how ‘Daylight Dreaming’ is inspired by: “how difficult it’s become to daydream now that our jobs take up so much headspace and we’re plugged into cyberspace 24/7”.
