Deftly combining glorious R&B throwback elements and the gorgeous vocal of Cehryl, Chicago producer Eli Way drops his new cut ‘Paper Cut'. It’s got a little bit of jazz, a little bit of R&B and a whole heap of funk and dance, all held together by Eli Way’s signature production skills. "We hoped to capture the traditional boombap sound with a slightly more contemporary updated feel” – says Eli on his vision behind the track. Music has always been in Eli’s blood: he was raised with siblings, parents and even grandparents with careers in music education, and began playing trumpet at the tender age of nine. At the age of sixteen he discovered sampling and beat making and the rest – as they say – is history. ‘Paper Cut’ features sublime vocals from Cehryl, who deserves a mention for her silky tones.
