CHILDHOOD CAMEO

There seems to be a plethora of vintage-inspired music videos this summer, most recently The Magic Gang’s ‘Your Love’. Yet Childhood have just set the bar even higher with their splendid video to ‘Cameo’, which is taken from their second album Universal High, out this Friday. Set against grainy snapshots of London, Ashley Rommelrath captures a 70s-influenced performance by the band, with a parallel narrative shot by director Katia Ganfield following a 70s degenerate around the urban landscape. The result is as nostalgic, psychedelic and soothingly dreamily lo-fi as the track itself.  In the words of one commentator: “It’s 4am in California and I’m vibin”. -HM
