Describing herself as a ‘songbird, architect, other’ there’s little known about Anne Dereaux, except that she’s just dropped ‘mo[u]rning’: the debut single from her forthcoming EP, Book Of Lolita. Musically, Dereaux’s style calls to mind FKA Twigs and Kelela with her futuristic, R&B instrumentals and dark vocal. The production comes from Rocnation’s Trakmatik, and with promises that the album will also feature production from FKi, The Book Of Lolita is shaping up nicely. The artwork to ‘mo[u]rning’ tantalisingly captions the track as Chapter 1 – we can’t wait to hear what Anne Dereaux’s next chapters have in store… -HM
